Powerline and Transmission Line Surveys




		LIDAR technology lends itself particularly to transmission line surveys. Lasermap has completed powerline surveys for Hydro-Québec and, in association with another imaging company for Manitoba Hydro. The company has completed several hundred miles of powerline surveys. Some have been pre-construction projects, where towers are sited according to the terrain data collected by the LIDAR system. Others have been surveys of existing lines to collect both ground information and catenary information of the transmission wires.
